How we created the ultimate glow foam party

Buckle up because we're about to spill all the secrets to throwing the ultimate glow foam party that will leave your guests raving for days. From meticulous planning to creative DIY setups, we poured our hearts into creating an experience like no other. So, grab your glow sticks and let's dive into the neon wonderland we crafted!

The Research Phase

The year before we had this party, we hired a professional to throw a day time foam party. We were so blown away by it, that we wanted to do it again. That's when we found out we could do a GLOW foam party. The cost to hire a professional to do it seemed a bit high. We found that we could throw one ourselves and in return, get to keep the machine for years to come.

We had to do a lot of brainstorming and research to figure out what we needed, how to do it, and how to make it BETTER than the day time foam party. Youtube didn't really have a lot of information on throwing a glow foam party yourself. So we were kind of just hoping for the best.

Gathering Supplies

The machine: We snagged the LANGXUN Foam Machine from Amazon. It seemed powerful enough, but not as crazy expensive as the professional foam machines. We took a chance, a leap of faith, and it was perfect for what we needed.

The glow part: We also ordered the FoamDaddy UV Glow and Gel Solution. We searched Facebook Marketplace for some 55 gallon barrels that we could use to store the solution during the party. We ended up finding 3 big white barrels which were perfect. Instead of using the foam packet that came with the machine, or the gel solution that came with the UV Glow powder, we found that the Dr. Party Foam Power Packs were the easiest to work with. It's so simple to use, yet their directions make it seem more complicated than they need to be. To make the UV power glow, you need powerful Blacklights. We ordered (4) of these 200Watt blacklights and they worked great. You will definitely want the 200Watt, not 30Watt. We originally ordered the 30Watt, but the difference in how far the blacklight extends is pretty remarkable.

The accessories: A glow party isn't complete without the party accessories! So we purchased these Glow in the Dark Party Supplies (2 orders). We loved the variety it offered. We were also going to have the pool heated up during our party, so we purchased some glow in the dark pool toys as well. We loved these light up glitter balls.

The music: We wanted to make sure the music would be heard over the sound of the machine. We tried out a few different speakers before the actual party, but found that this JBL PartyBox Bluetooth Speaker was going to do the job we needed it to. We also paired it with our alexa devices and created the ultimate surround sound. The lights this speaker has are also so fun and move to the beat of the music.

The decorations: Decorations always just add a special touch, like the topping on the cake. We bought these glow in the dark party decorations. We used this colorful tape to create cool designs on the wall, we also used to it create a glow in the dark hopscotch. We bought these Neon Fluorescent pens and some white craft paper that we used to cover up the tables. We let kids write special notes for the birthday girl. We also bought these Neon Paper Cardstock sheets and strung a string through them to use as garland across the wall. We got these UV Neon Balloons for behind the food table and by the gift table.

The stage: We built a custom wood frame around the Foam Machine that could hold our lights. We also built a more stable base for the foam machine, replacing the plastic stand that comes with it, with a more sturdy metal pole that we spray painted black. This new framework created a nice 'stage' for our event and gave us more comfort knowing that the foam machine wouldn't be knocked over. We bought these XMOCSY party string lights to use around our pool area. We also bought these Disco Ball Party Lights and these Disco Stage Party Lights to add some fun colors to the party.

The outfit: Do you have to have a fun glow in the dark party outfit? No. But, we did. We bought this really cool neon tie dye paint and a white dress / white shirts and created some really fun tie dye outfits for the party. Don't make the mistake of buying this glow in the dark tie dye, the colors were not nearly as vibrant as the Neon Tie Dye kit that lights up like magic in blacklight and also looks really cool in daylight.

Countdown to Party Time

We did a few practice sessions with the foam machine before the day of the party to make sure we had the right portions of powder to water. We're glad we did these, because the directions on the packet are not super clear. What we love about the Dr. Party Foam Power Packs is that it takes the guesswork out of measurments and the lead time to prepare it is nothing. One packet of Dr. Party Foam Powder Packs + 1 50 Gallon drum of water creates 1 hr of foam magic. This can be extended if you set the foam machine to blow out a lighter, snow like foam which was a welcoming surprise when we were testing out the machine. We loved the 'snow like' foam.

The Big Reveal

When the time finally arrived, and guests started pouring in, we knew all our hard work had paid off. The LANGXUN Foam Machine sprang to life, filling the air with fluffy, glowing foam that elicited cheers and laughter. The custom-built framework bathed the dance floor in mesmerizing neon lights, creating an atmosphere of pure magic.
